26 Children’s Winters is the 2015/16 incarnation of our biannual 26 Stories of Christmas project and this year we’ve teamed up with the Museum of Childhood, Edinburgh and local children’s charity, It’s Good 2 Give. All winter the museum is running an exhibition of 26 treasures that bring alive children’s winters over history. Whether it’s a white feather muff or a set of 1960s board games – 26’s writers have done a brilliant job in capturing the essence of winter in 62 words – the sestude, our signature form.
As well as the exhibition our writers have written blog pieces about the experience which will be posted here over December.
The object and sestudes will also appear daily over December in our very own online advent calendar here: http://26storiesofchristmas.com/ We’d love you to share it.
As well as celebrating the winter season we’re also raising money for It’s Good 2 Give who have teamed up with the museum to create Christmas cards. You can find out more about their work here: http://www.itsgood2give.co.uk/ and buy cards and donate.
