I live within unwanted wood
of broken tables, fallen branches
kicked around until I’m found
and pinned in place
until my outside disappears
my skin is smoothed with papered sand
my body oiled by tender hands
so the real me revealed can speak
I say: rest my head in your palm
stroke my neck with your finger
tip and allow yourself to linger on
the beauty beneath all skins
the wonder within all souls
the love inside
yearning to know what I am?
I ask in return:
When found, revealed, reborn
who are you?
