Words by Paul Snoxell in response to Plan Desk by James Tattersall

Paul Snoxell

An air-conditioned agency, Great Portland Street.
An airy workshop, Leyton.
An ex-sorting office, New Oxford Street.
An email, a phone call.
Warm handshakes and mugs of tea.

Talk of ideas and inspiration.
Sharing sketches, picking through prototypes.
Seeing the Plan Desk hard at work.
And on pristine display.

Hand-made for hatching plans.
Chamfered edges, carefully shaped hand-holes.
Shallow drawers connected by crafty routing.
Walnut, oak, birch and Formica.

English white and Festival of Britain blue.
Tri-legged trestles and a tractor-seat stool.
Ready to receive laptops and layout pads.
Illuminated by an Anglepoise, perhaps.

Or warm sunlight, casting shadows just so.
